Lenses for a frame the customer already owns
Put a customer's own frame on an order as a $0 line. It never touches your stock, and Lume fills in the lab measurements from your catalogue wherever it can.

Customers often walk in with a frame they already own and just want new lenses in it. Until now there was no clean way to write that up, so most practices invented a placeholder product or zeroed out a real one. That is fixed, and it is already live.
Mark the frame as the customer’s own
On any frame line, tick Patient’s Own Frame. The line comes through at $0 and is clearly marked as the customer’s own on the order, on the invoice, and on the PDF you hand them.
When you dispense it, your stock stays exactly where it was. The frame was never yours, so Lume does not take one off the shelf.
Measurements the lab needs, filled in for you
A frame you did not sell has no spec sheet sitting behind it, and the lab still needs its measurements. So Lume asks for four: A, B, ED and DBL.
If the frame is one you happen to stock, we fill those in from your catalogue. You only type them yourself when it is a frame you have never carried.
If any are still missing when you go to send the order to the lab, Lume tells you which line and which measurement is short, and takes you straight to the field. The order stays put until it is ready, so nothing reaches the lab half finished.
