Fix a typo in a prescription, and call customers by their nickname
You can now fix a mistake in a prescription instead of filing a new one, add a second prism to an eye, give a customer a nickname that shows on screen and in messages, and see dashboard numbers after discounts.
Here is what changed this week.
Fix a mistake in a prescription
Before, if you typed the wrong axis or picked the wrong prescriber, you had to file a whole new prescription. The wrong one stayed in the patient’s history forever.

Now there is an Edit button on the prescription. Press it, fix the number, save. Lume writes down what changed, who changed it, and when. Invoices you already printed do not change.
Two prisms on one eye
Some prescriptions have two prisms on the same eye, like 2.0 base out and 1.25 base up. There was only one box, so the second one had nowhere to go.
Now each eye has two prism boxes. They show up as soon as a prescription has any prism at all. If you scan a paper prescription, Lume picks up the second prism too.
Call customers by the name they use
Everyone calls him Mike, but Lume only knew Michael. Searching for Mike found nothing.
You can now add a nickname to a customer. Screens show “Michael (Mike) Thompson”, and searching for either name finds him. Texts and emails start with “Hi Mike”. Invoices, prescriptions and insurance claims still use the legal name.
You can also label each phone number as mobile, home or work, so the house line stops showing up with a cellphone icon.
Add a customer without an email
When you added a new customer from inside an order, Lume made you type an email. That stopped you mid-order if the customer did not have one. Email is optional there now. A phone number is still needed.
Dashboard numbers are after discounts
Top Brands and the Top Sellers detail used to add up prices before discounts, so they looked higher than what you actually took in. They now show the real money.
Top Sellers also has a new Multi-pair column. It counts how many of a seller’s sales had two or more pairs of glasses. Tap it to see those orders.
Small fixes
A discontinued frame’s page no longer shows an error. Stock counts no longer include a location you have closed. And an order with no lenses no longer says it went to a lab.
